Seeing oneself as part of the collective soul will shift the paradigm from feeling isolated and stuck in a hostile external world to feeling like a cell in a more complex organism (such as a blood cell in a human body), serving a purpose that sustains life, or like a drop of water in the ocean. The drop and the ocean are one in essence.

This question feels like a trap. I think that’s because Pure Altruism isn’t a quality of humans.  There is no way for me to know “How” to be altruistic at the level of the mind.  There are too many factors involved.

Altruism is a quality of the Creator.  The best I can do is remove self-concern from the equation, choose to be altruistic and implore the Creator for guidance on how to proceed.

To me, it means slowly moving from seeing life through my own wants and reactions toward genuinely caring for others and feeling more connected. In Kabbalist terms, it feels like shifting from the desire to receive for myself toward developing the quality of bestowal and becoming more aligned with the Creator’s nature.

That entails that we can transform from an evil nature into a godly nature. All eight billion people could treat one another with humility and gentleness, for everyone shares a single Soul—that of Adam—living together in the Garden of Eden.

It means that I go from egoistic grounded behaviour to include desires which lead me towards a more bestowal level of life.
