Would it be also correct to interpret phase 2 as a first attempt of giving everything in order to imitate the creator and feel the same pleasure than him, which results in emptiness of the kli, rather than only rejecting the light because it feels there is a better pleasure from giving?
I think basically it’s my understanding and view on what’s desire and how to deal with it that is evolving and deepening. On which extend I perceive desires as personal or impersonal, where does it come from, what does it produce or where does it lead me according to how consciously I take it and what’s my intention with it. All this becomes clearer.
Most of religion speak about purifying the mind and heart, purifying desires, on one hand, and emphasize the importance of love, compassion, caring, giving and forgiving on the other hand. What blew my mind is how kabbalah teaches in a very clear and practical way what is the join between those two aspects of spiritual life by correcting the intention of our desires.
From receiving for ourselves which is the divided and egoistic reality to receiving in order to bestow which is the corrected unified altruistic reality
