It’s difficult for us to agree with the results of the research on pro-social spending because we want it all for ourselves, we do not think of others first. Our natural tendency is to think of our own gratification first. We have also not seen many examples of pro-social spending in our society and the benefit it brings to us.
Hello. My name is Ricki. I moved to a new country quite recently. I tend to be able to talk to people quite easily. However, I only have a few very close friends.Due to moving to different countries for most of my life, my close friends are spread all over the world. I miss them and we try to keep in touch but it’s not as often as I would like. It would be wonderful to learn how to connect with the people who study Kabbalah and to be able to support one another as we work on revealing the Creator in our lives.
I spoke too soon. I am reading (and making diagrams) and not understanding what I am reading, hearing and seeing. Should I just give up for now and come back when I am ready?
I don’t completely understand but it helped when I stopped trying to understand the material more with a sense of feeling and understanding, instead of mere facts. Is it ok that I don’t completely understand the material but get a some very small sense of what is happening with the Light and the Partzuf and Kli? I’m not even sure the question is correct.
Even though I have found this class particularly challenging I will continue, albeit a bit slower than other courses, because I have had to repeat these classes in this course more than once. My motivation is to try to learn and understand more, and I also like to finish what I started.
I might have misunderstood, but I heard that in the corporeal world I should be involved in a spiritual community. I used to be observant in the Orthodox Jewish community. I am no longer. I am in a new country and have not established to be a part of the community, for many reasons, but I no longer felt comfortable in the Orthodox community. I miss being able to go to services ( Covid and membership) to hear the Torah being read. Is this important to reimmerse myself in a corporeal Jewish spiritual community? I get confused as the Rav speaks and the texts do too, of the importance of Torah and mitzvot.
I hope this makes sense, it is being written very early in the morning. Thank you, Ricki de Wolff
