How do we know that there are 613 desires and not say 615 or 598 etc ? How did we come to that number? Where is the science that demonstrates this is the case so that we know it to be true ? Could one person have say 728 desires whilst another person be born with only 345 desires?
If I fix one desire and make it a will to bestow could it not revert back to a desire from being a will to bestow? A bit like doing a new year resolution that works for a few months until we revert to old habits? How do you stop this from happening, otherwise it may never be possible to correct all 613?
We have a limited processing capacity in our brains that cannot process all the information around us, we would become simply overloaded within seconds and would go mad. I thought that the job of our 5 senses was to throttle back all the potential data from this world to prevent us from becoming overwelmed by it rather than coming from our egos ?
The universe is what it is regardless of how we perceive it to be? Can our perception actually change its substance from what it actually is, into something it isn’t?
Some people believe in ‘manifesting’, ie their thoughts can change the matter in the universe into what they want / desires for example more money. So therefore their perceptions actually create reality.
Some people perceived the earth to be flat, some perceived it to be round. The earth is what the earth is. No matter how much some may want the earth to be flat, it isn’t. Or is there two earths… one that is flat to satisfy the perception of those who want it to be flat and in a parallel universe it is round to satisfy those who perceive it to be round ?
Is Kabalah a revelation from G.d to man, in a similar way to the 10 commandments? If so when and how did that take place? If not divinely inspired, then where did the knowledge of 125 steps etc come from? How is it proved in the way we can prove the earth orbits the sun and not the other way round? Where is the science to prove that 125 steps actually does exist or is it just a believe system, in a similar way to some cultures explain the world as a ball carried on the back of a turtle?
