I found a myriad of things from week two to be stimulating, intriguing and inspiring.  One that I’m thinking about most is the teaching about the purpose of suffering.  It shifted my intention from, “I’ve got to figure out why this suffering is in my life so that then I can control things and make the suffering go away,” to—“If I can figure out why this suffering is in my life, I can learn what there is to learn from it.”

Hi Seth—I’ve had experiences when dealing with the public, and for no apparent reason, where I have strong feelings of love for whomever comes up to the ticket window and (very distinctly) want only the best for them in a broad and sincere way.  Could this be an experience of resonating with the desire to bestow from the spiritual world?  I want to feel that for everyone all the time (which I don’t)!!

To the perception of reality beyond the limitations of the five corporeal senses and into the perception of the whole of reality, the perception of the Creator’s Light, and into the Equivalence of Form that will allow our souls to participate in the Desire to Bestow to the whole of creation.

So, the heart-wrenching desire to move beyond the created world and to touch the spiritual world is a valuable desire to have, according to Kabbalah?  It’s wild to think that this desire is something to value, versus something to be suspicious of.

What blows my mind is the idea that I don’t have to just hope that I’ll make spiritual progress, but that there is a system by which I and actually make spiritual progress.
