Hi Terry, great questions!
1. The base 5 stems from the 4 phases (and root phase) of direct light. This is essentially the blueprint of reality that repeats itself on all of the different levels of reality. Check out the chart in the back of Kabbalah for the student for more examples: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZMKAG9VpJehF4anqSBT-RcG4ZqJf6B09/view?usp=sharing
We will learn about this process in detail in the upcoming lessons.
2. The 5 spiritual worlds are not places like we think, but rather levels of concealment. World (Olam in Hebrew) comes from the word Concealment (ha-alama). So the 5 worlds are 5 levels of concealment between us, the desire to receive, and the Creator the general force of love and bestowal. To the extent that we correct our own opposite, egoistic nature, for it to also operate in the direction of bestowal, to that extent we reveal these worlds, these higher qualities.
All of this follows the law of equivalence of form. Check out this blog post from Rav Laitman for more details: http://laitman.com/2013/04/everything-is-attained-by-the-equivalence-of-form/

Hi Kima,
Kabbalah does not deal with dream interpretations. In general, Kabbalists don’t attribute much importance to dreams or the state of dreaming. They see it simply as a state where the brain summarizes/organizes the daily experiences. Similar to how some computers go through the process of defragmentation.
On the other hand, there is a spiritual state called dreaming which is the process by which we transition from one spiritual degree to another. It’s like the neutral gear on a manual transmission, which requires you to switch to the neutral gear before switching to another gear. In other words, in between every spiritual state is a state called “dream”. But it’s not related to the corporeal dreams that we experience in our physical bodies. Kabbalists don’t ascribe any importance to corporeal dreams.

Hi İdil,
The first lesson should have addressed most of these questions. If not, feel free to post the questions in the questions forum and we’ll answer them for you.

Hi Karim,
613 is the number of corrections that need to be placed over the spiritual desire. This number is further divided into 248 desires of bestowing in order to bestow and 365 desires that operate on receiving in order to bestow. We’ll learn how this number is derived in the more advanced lessons on KabU that deal with the structure of the upper worlds.

Hi Troy,
Yes, general questions can be asked in the “Ask Anything” forum.
To navigate to it, go to the navigation bar on top, select your name all the way to the right, in the drop down menu select “Forums”.

Hi Lora,
The Kabbalists tell us that there is no one closer to a person than the Creator. We exist in Him like an embryo within the mother. The main thing is to constantly turn to Him, to constantly be in connection with Him.
